Hawk Ridge Park gives Raymore a lake-and-playground anchor
Raymore's Hawk Ridge Park centers a city park identity around Johnston Lake, an inclusive playground, and accessible park amenities.
Raymore’s growth can read like subdivision growth from a distance, but Hawk Ridge Park gives the city a named public place with its own shape. The city describes Hawk Ridge Park at 701 Johnston Parkway as a 79-acre park.
The official park page lists Johnston Lake, the Hawk’s Nest Inclusive Playground, an amphitheater, an ADA fishing dock, a bridge and jetty, a shelter house, picnic areas, a paved walking trail, soccer fields, and mountain bike trails.
For a Cass County reader, that is more than a park inventory. It explains how Raymore has built a civic outdoor center around a small lake and accessible play space, which is local color a countywide tax or road note cannot supply.
