Schifferdecker Park carries Joplin's city-park memory

Schifferdecker Park is more than a recreation listing. Joplin’s facility page says the site was called Electric Park for many years, later became Schifferdecker Electric Park, and became Schifferdecker Park after the land was given to the city in 1913.

The city’s resource directory also ties the park to picnic pavilions, a swimming pool, walking trails, golf, a skateboard ramp, and the Joplin Museum Complex.
