Greene County delinquent real estate can reach tax sale
Greene County's Collector lists the tax sale as the annual process for real estate with older unpaid taxes.
Most people only need Greene County tax sale information as a warning sign or title-history clue, not as a routine errand. The Collector’s tax sale page says real estate property with delinquent taxes is offered at the annual tax sale on the fourth Monday in August.
The page also says properties qualify for sale if they owe at least two years on May 1. After that date, all delinquent taxes must be paid to remove the property from the sale.
For an owner, the reader job is direct: do not ignore older unpaid real estate taxes. For a buyer, tax sale language in a record or listing is a reason to slow down and confirm the status through the Collector and a title professional. This note is not investment advice; it is a routing note for a serious official process.
