Callaway County road questions split between Road and Bridge and MoDOT
Callaway County tells residents to contact Road and Bridge for county roads, while highway or state road questions go to MoDOT.
On a Callaway County road problem, the name of the road is the first clue. County-road questions go to Callaway County Road and Bridge. If the road is called Highway something or State Road something, the contact is MoDOT.
Road and Bridge has a big local job: maintaining 820 miles of roads, building bridges, replacing culverts, mowing, and removing snow in winter. That is still only the county layer, not every road with a Callaway address.
For a pothole, dust-control question, culvert concern, or winter-road issue, first sort the spot into county road, city street, state route, or private road. Then use the county office or MoDOT Traveler Information Map for the right layer.
