Stone County paid receipts can be shown at the license bureau

The Stone County Collector points taxpayers to paid receipts for license-bureau use, which makes the collector site a useful stop before plate renewal.

Stone County’s collector site is useful before a license-plate errand because it points taxpayers to paid receipts they can print or view for the license bureau. The collector site also links to personal property tax searches, receipts, statements, and online payment.

That does not mean every vehicle question belongs to the collector. The Missouri State Tax Commission explains that a paid receipt comes from the collector, while a statement of non-assessment comes from the assessor if you did not own or possess taxable personal property on January 1.

For a Stone County driver, sort the question first. Need proof of paid tax? Start with the collector receipt. Need to be added to the assessment roll or request a waiver? Start with the assessor.
