St. Charles County has a pre-permit development meeting
For larger unincorporated projects, St. Charles County offers a One Stop meeting to surface permit, utility, road, health, and fire-district questions early.
Some St. Charles County property projects are complex enough that the useful first step is a meeting, not an application. The county’s One Stop Development Assistance Program is for citizens or businesses looking at commercial, industrial, or institutional projects in unincorporated St. Charles County.
The meeting is optional. It is meant to find process steps, code issues, and possible problems before formal permit or development review begins. County staff may include Building and Code Enforcement, Development Review, Highway, Planning and Zoning, Public Health when needed, and Roads and Traffic. The correct fire district may also attend.
For a buyer, builder, or business owner looking at unincorporated land, this is a way to ask the layered questions early: road access, fire district, public health, utilities, zoning, and development review.
