Perry County property research can start with the Assessor's records search

Perry County's assessor records page explains what can be copied, requested by phone, or researched in more detail through the assessor's site.

At the Perry County Courthouse in Perryville, assessor records are not all hidden behind a login. Public records can be copied during normal working hours, and many simple information requests can be handled by phone.

The heavier work has its own lane. Detailed information from the Perry County Assessor’s website is available for a yearly fee, and specific, detailed, or multiple requests may require a visit to the office. Copying, research, and preparation can also bring fees, depending on the request.

That keeps a property question from drifting to the wrong counter. The assessor is the place for assessment and property-record information. The recorder is the place for deeds and other recorded land documents. For a Perryville house or a rural tract, those are related records, but they are not the same record.
