County road questions start with the Highway Department page
New Madrid County's Highway Department page is the official county starting point for local road-maintenance and infrastructure questions.
New Madrid County drivers need to separate county roads from state routes before reporting a problem. The county’s official Highway Department page identifies that department as the local source for road maintenance, projects, safety, and infrastructure updates.
Use that county page for county-road questions, then use MoDOT for interstate, U.S. highway, or state-route conditions. That split matters along I-55, U.S. 61, and smaller county roads where a driver may move between state and local ownership in the same trip.
For a useful report, write down the road name, nearby intersection, and whether the issue is inside a city. If the road is a state highway or interstate, use MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map or MoDOT district contacts instead of the county office.
