Cameron straddles the DeKalb-Clinton county line

The city of Cameron extends across the DeKalb-Clinton county line, so a Cameron address does not by itself tell you which county handles your property records, taxes, and county services.

Cameron, on the eastern edge of DeKalb County, is a city that extends across the line into Clinton County. That matters for paperwork: a Cameron mailing address does not by itself settle which county assesses your property, sends your tax bill, or holds your deed and voter registration. Two properties on the same side of town can fall under different county courthouses depending on which side of the line they sit. If you live in or are buying in Cameron, confirm your parcel’s county so you contact the right assessor and collector, in Maysville for DeKalb County or Plattsburg for Clinton County. The county assessor offices and parcel records are the authoritative way to confirm which county a specific address falls in.
