Clay County land records can start online
Clay County's Recorder of Deeds keeps real estate documents as public records, with online search access for many land record images.
For a Clay County deed, lien, or other recorded real estate document, start with the Recorder of Deeds. The recorder says documents recorded in the office are public record and can be searched in the office or online. The county’s online-search page says real estate land record images are available from January 1, 1967, forward, with many images viewable and printable online.
This is useful before calling a title company, lender, or county office. The recorder can provide access to records, but the county also warns that the office does not perform legal searches or determine whether a lien exists for you. For a homeowner or buyer, the right sequence is: search the record source, confirm the document details, then use a title professional or attorney when the question is legal.
