Growth turns septic-vs-sewer into a real question
As subdivisions spread onto former farmland, some homes are on city sewer and others on septic, and in karst that distinction matters for buyers.

In Christian County, homes in and near Nixa or Ozark may be on city sewer. Rural-edge homes and some subdivisions may use onsite septic instead. Drinking water can also come from a city system or a rural water district.
For a buyer, the useful questions are plain: Is the home on sewer or septic? If it is septic, is the system permitted and in good shape? Where does the drinking water come from? Those answers can affect inspections, repairs, and future bedrooms.
Missouri DNR reviews wastewater issues for new subdivisions. For a single home septic question, the county health department or Missouri DHSS is usually the place to confirm the current permit path.
