Boone's road dashboard helps separate county roads from other roads
Boone County Road and Bridge points residents to a roads dashboard for ownership, maintenance, surface type, snow routes, and closures.
Not every road with a Columbia address is a Boone County road. Boone County Road and Bridge says its roads dashboard includes public road data such as surface type, ownership and maintenance, average daily traffic, snow routes, and road closures.
That is useful before reporting a pothole, asking about a gravel road, or checking winter maintenance. A county-maintained road belongs in the county road system. A state highway belongs with MoDOT. City streets may belong to a city public works office.
Start with the Boone County roads dashboard when you are not sure who maintains the road. For state highway conditions, construction, and statewide travel issues, use MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map. The right map saves time and gets the question to the office that can actually act.
